Been listening to this great lecture series by Harvard Professor Michael Sandel entitled 'Whats The Right Thing To Do?'. Sandel discusses philosophy, justice, and morality among other issues. In defense of studying these topics, Sandel urges that their persistence in our collective consciousness and culture begs for their continued consideration.  I agree.
