Interesting recyclable helmet by designer Julien Bergignat. The Tattoo bicycle helmet is made of polypropylene, is 100% recyclable, and flattens out to lend itself to easy transport in a back pack or other bag. Inspired by the armor of an armadillo Tattoo helps protect your dome with out harming the environment. Though, to be honest, I'm not too sure if our landfills are really chock full of head gear; a good idea none the less.

  1. ok so yes, it's good that its recyclable, but is it really safe?? it doesn't look like it'd do the same that real helmets do. however, nice/creative design making it bag friendly. perhaps people would actually take them around more.....?

  2. i think the collapsible-ness is the best selling point. i don't think people would look at this and think 'super safe,' the article leads you to believe that it is, but appearances mean a lot. an interesting concept to rethink the helmet though...
